Catching of the Frisbee by Dr Isaac Vaisman, APSA, PPSA

About the Image(s)

Title: Catching of the Frisbee

Catching the Frisbee was created a few years ago at one of the local parks. There was a competition for owners and pets doing tricks. The catching of the frisbees, I thought, was the most interesting and dynamic of the exercises. I shot a lot of frames from different vantage points, and I think this was my best image of the day.

I used a Nikon D3s with the Nikkor prime zoom lens 200-400 f/4 @ 200 S
Settings: ISO 400 F:4 1/2000

Hi Isaac, wow, what a class action photo you have succeeded there, in the photo just everything is right, optimal focus and calm background and no disturbing elements in the image.   Posted: 09/04/2023 02:37:09

Hi Isaac. What a fantastic shot you have captured and no doubt most of the photos you took on this day went into the electronic rubbish bin. This is one of the most difficult forms of action photography, dogs will not do want you want when chasing frisbees. You have nailed one with frisbee in the mouth teeth and all and all legs elevated from the ground.   Posted: 09/12/2023 18:14:39

Isaac, a difficult shot to get but you have really nailed this shot. Beautiful colour pallet, sharp and all the elements of the dogs face are perfect.   Posted: 09/12/2023 20:40:56

I like the texture of the dog's fur, and I really like the way the dog's eye is right on the frisbee, but it looks like the eye is looking right at the viewer. I think that there's a little too much space on the left side of the frame, so I cropped the left and a little off the bottom for better overall balance. Great shot.   Posted: 09/25/2023 21:17:24

I'm in Williamsburg right now. Will you be attending the PSA Photo Festival again this year?   Posted: 09/25/2023 21:18:57

Not too centered ?   Posted: 09/29/2023 08:29:06

I don't think it's too centered. I guess I may be in the minority, but my personal preference is the way I cropped it, but I see your point.   Posted: 09/29/2023 20:37:38
