About the Image(s)

Title: Shall We Dance?

This image was created at the then Miami Arena, a few years ago on a special arrangement night for Camera Club Photographer allowed to bring professional photographic gear. I used a Nikon D3s with the Nikkor prime zoom 70-200 mm f/2.8 @ 200 mm and with these settings: ISO 2200, f.2.8 and 1/750 sec
The image was PP in ACR and cropped

Hi Isaac, congratulations on this beautiful image. No distracting elements in the background, only the two players are in the picture. The ball is literally stuck in the hand of the player with the number 6 and the defensive posture of the player with the number 30 makes the image a successful baskett ball photo.   Posted: 12/01/2022 10:31:37

Hi Isaac. This is a fine basketball photo with a simple background just showing the floor. All seems perfect, in fact too perfect, perhaps it was a staged shot for the camera, most basketball photos have many background distractions. If not staged then you have done well.
PS I watched a staged cricket catching photo session being performed for promotion, players were diving across catching a ball and out of view was an airbag beneath where they were falling. Another person was throwing the ball wide of them so they had to dive with outstretched hand, photos will no doubt look spectacular, but not PJ.   Posted: 12/06/2022 22:58:40

Ronald, it was not staged. It was an actual game where amateur photographers were allowed in the game with real cameras. It just happened there was a momentary slow down in the action. Look at the ball in the players hand   Posted: 12/15/2022 15:29:06

Isaac, Technically a very good image. Sharp, good composition, no other distracting extra players. As Hans said it is unusual to not have the bleachers in the background for basketball image. For me that action is pretty static for a competition image. Bruce   Posted: 12/12/2022 00:31:32

Bruce, this was caused by the angle from where the image was created, high at the stadium   Posted: 12/15/2022 15:31:35

I like the simplicity of composition, the color harmony, and the overall sharpness. My personal preference for competitive basketball shots is to have the basket in the photo and to have more action, such as feet off the ground, but this is a nice composition.   Posted: 12/28/2022 19:36:36
