Bruce, another great football image (I just checked the origin of the word soccer: The word "soccer" originated in 19th-century England as a piece of university slang. It was coined at Oxford University to distinguish "association football", the sport governed by the newly formed Football Association from "rugby football", often nicknamed "rugger". The "-er" Slang: British university students had a habit of shortening words and adding "-er" to the end. They took the "assoc" from Association, turning it into "assoccer", which was eventually shortened to simply "soccer" ), and as I said to Ronald, with the world cup going on, everybody is paying attention. Great pick of action, and as they say: we have eyes and the ball. Sharp.   Posted: 07/10/2026 12:45:40
