Hi Isaac. A photograph we do not see in the group, polo. Last year I managed to photograph a match near my sons house in outer Sydney. This sport is not easy to capture as the playing arena is 300 yards in length it is not worthwhile bothering to capture photos at this distance. Your photo is still at some distance using 400mm, field width can be up to 200 yards and I assume this was your distance less a few yards.
The photo has been well captured and not marred by shadowing of the faces like mine were. Some may say the supporting equipment is a distraction but the equipment like trailers or floats is vital to the game, the version I watched horses had to be removed from play every 15-20 minutes in quarters, this meant each rider had to have 4 horses per match? A lady said to me her trailer purposefully built for Polo cost her $200,000 AUD. This is also the sport of kings.
A fine photo showing the skill required for this game, rider head down over the ball, strong control of the horse and going at top speed to elude your oponents. A very challenging sport which you have captured in this photo.   Posted: 07/10/2026 06:20:36

Yes, it's very hard to get a good polo shot. A couple of years ago, another member of these DD groups posted one, and mentioned that they had take 300 shots in one session.   Posted: 07/12/2026 05:55:11
