Title: Full Moon
This image is from 2023. Coordinating these moon shoots in kiteboarding can be quite challenging, as the moon tends to rise late and these locations have no artificial lighting, so it gets very dark quickly.
On this particular day, we weren’t as lucky ??“ the moon was partially blocked by low clouds on the horizon and only became visible once it was higher in the sky. Even so, I’m really happy that we were able to capture a few successful shots.

Andre, your images are so dramatically and technically superb, that I am going to give you a negative comment. Very strong lens flare (just kidding). Having a sharp moon at the same time, well !!   Posted: 04/10/2026 00:42:03
Hey Isaac. I was really curious to hear your thoughts on this one-that's actually why I submitted it. The flare was intentional; I created it by placing water droplets on the port of the housing. I liked how it filled that empty space on the side of the frame and added a bit of character. I actually do this "technique" quite often.
That said, I'm still a bit on the fence about it. I feel like flares have become quite a trend in recent years, and while they can look amazing-especially with high-end prime lenses-I'm not sure how I feel about them in general. I end up doing it just to add variety.
I've added the shot that I consider the best shot of this session. No flares on that one.
Really appreciate you taking the time to look and share your feedback.   Posted: 04/10/2026 20:16:43
