While in Cairns, North Queensland, I went to watch a local Australian Rules Football match between 2 of the local teams ??“ Cairns Brothers v Trinity Beach also from Cairns. It was a fiercely contested match, with the scores close all day. This photo captures the intensity of the struggle, with Cairns Brothers winning in last 5 minutes of the game.

I like this style of sports photo, as it shows the intensity of effort required to play this game for 120 minutes and sometimes even longer. Players need the strength of a modern-day wrestler, the stamina of a 800 metre runner, and even the speed of Usain Bolt to break away from opponents.
