Title: Flying Parallel to the River
After seeing Andre’s shot from Hood River last month, I decided to show another shot from our trip to Portland, Oregon in July. As I noted with my August image, my wife Signe was judging the PSA 3D International, hosted by the Cascade Stereoscopic Club in Portland. One day, we took a ride to Hood River, a city east of Portland on the Columbia River famous for wind surfing and related activities like kite boarding.
I wasn’t sure what to call this activity, so I asked our son. He said it’s called “wing foil surfing,” and the boards with the piece under the water are called foil boards. Anyway …, the good wing foil surfers seem to do a lot of aerial moves. I was following this boarder with the white kite and purple helmet because he did a lot of “flying,” and even though you can’t see his face, I thought his flight almost parallel to the water was pretty dramatic.
What do you think the PJ international acceptance probability might be?
I was using my new Canon EOS RS5 Mark II with a 100-500mm zoom at 500mm.
The settings were ISO 500, f7.1, at 1/500sec.
