About the Image(s)
Title: Superman
This was taken from a high school soccer game on March 28 between Catawba Ridge High School and Rock Hill High School. The player in the white is a senior captain, Jeremy, and I just happened to catch this photo where he had jumped up in the air to settle the ball with his chest. He ended up missing the ball, but the picture came out looking like he has X-men type abilities.

Thanks Bruce! Appreciate the suggestion. I could take some crop from the top as there is a little more room there. I was happy I didn't have parents or other things in the background as is typically the case with high school or club soccer in the US. Regardless, appreciate your thoughts! hi Don. This photo has struck me as unusual; I have never seen so much white paint on a soccer pitch? This white paint causes my eye to drift down towards it continuously it's almost like laid out snow. The two players have been taken on a side on position; this gives little facial recognition other than the linesman. I think a better version would have been taken from the opposite direction, if possible. Posted: 04/14/2025 21:34:45
Hi Ronald,
Thank you for your insights on this photo. In high school soccer in the US, the majority of games are played on fields that are used for both football and soccer. The white line is the out of bounds line for football games, the black line you see to the right of that is the out of bounds for the soccer field. Agree it would have been better to get the photo from the other side. From my position, I wasn't able to get it, but was intrigued by how he looked like he was floating in the air :) Posted: 04/17/2025 14:32:24
