About the Image(s)
Title - Going for the Proverbial Jugular
It was taken in the middle of the afternoon near Augusta, GA several weekends ago. The sun was very bright, and the light was harsh, which I tried to soften a bit with post picture editing. My son is the one in the blue, working to get the ball in the goal. He took a shot and missed by inches as it bounced off the bar.
Image was adjusted to reduce the size of the file. I enhanced the color, contrast, smoothness of the photo.
Image shot with Nikon Z9
Lens - Nikkor Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 @ 300mm
Settings: 1/2000 f/6.0 ISO 640

Don, The action makes this image making the viewer wonder what what the result. In my opinion, the action overcomes the bright overexposure. I would like to see the background blurred more but not possible shooting youth soccer. Bruce   Posted: 11/12/2024 06:22:50

Thanks Bruce! I find that this particular lens during daylight is very harsh. I have a 70-200mm that doesn't seem to be as harsh and wondering if putting a polarized lens on the front would help?   Posted: 11/14/2024 00:56:56

I like the composition and location of the ball, and it was good to have at least a little of the goalie's glove in the photo. I tried my hand at toning down the hot spots, too. I also cropped a little off the top to eliminate a few background highlights, and I cropped a little off the bottom as well to eliminate some brightness and out of focus grass. But there's not much we can do about the bright white spot at the elbow of the player in the background.   Posted: 11/30/2024 01:24:47
