About the Image(s)
I have just returned from Portugal, very enthusiastic about the landscapes and the surrounding area generally. Like living every day in a museum. This is captured in the city of Porto. As I was standing in the middle of that street admiring everything, this guy was coming too fast towards my spot. I just took a photo and ran away to avoid the accident. I used Nikon Z6ii and the 24-70 lens. The sun was very strong, so ISO 100 was needed, but I was saved by the shade of the buildings on both sides of the street.

Great colour, clarity and movement. Showing what was happening on that street at that moment. Good story.   Posted: 08/14/2026 03:02:54

Marevi,
As always, this is a very strong image. It gives the viewer a clear sense of place while also suggesting a larger story. I especially like the contrast you've created between the people in the background who are watching the boarder and the two figures walking behind him who seem completely unaware or uninterested. That difference in attention adds a nice layer of visual tension and helps make the scene feel more alive.
If I'm being picky, I'd consider cropping out the person in blue on the left edge, since he/she pulls a bit of attention away from the woman staring at the boarder. I'd also look at darkening the right side of the frame to bring back more tonal contrast. You mentioned there was shade in the scene, but in the final image that contrast feels somewhat reduced. Restoring some of that darker value could add depth and help guide the viewer's eye more effectively.

Trey, you are not picky, as you urge me to promote the best! I did not want to crop it so as not to leave the lady almost at the edge of the frame as if she wanted to escape. However, I also wanted to avoid removing the face with the blue ones according to the rules of the PSA, but wanting to follow your advice, in the end I did not avoid the PS brush. As for the shadows, knowing the original photo, I think it is better this way. thank you.   Posted: 08/22/2026 16:35:43
An action packed image, Marevi!
The skateboarder has created interest with the diners on the left of the image as he apparently swerves to miss you in the middle of the pavement.
One wonders if skateboarding is not permitted in this area, for safety reasons.

Skateboards, etc., should definitely be banned, especially on roads like this. As you probably didn't read in the note on the photo, the young man was running towards me and I avoided him. You only see the zigzag, which was simply because the pavement wasn't straight. Unfortunately, no one noticed the poster on the right that has a face, coincidentally and complementary to the lady sitting on the left.   Posted: 08/24/2026 08:34:04
A great action image Marevi with a great depth of field of the activities and spectatorship behind the skateboarder. Excellent .   Posted: 08/24/2026 06:36:59
