About the Image(s)

I was intrigued by the rundown state of the buildings and the old American cars in Havana.
One morning, I started to photograph this old blue and white Chevrolet parked in the street, when I saw this lady in a bright red top approaching. I continued to shoot from the middle of the street as she approached, fully expecting that she would deviate from her path and walk around me as I crouched in the middle of the pavement. She didn’t, and within seconds she was on top of me!
Post-production: Brightening the girl, sharpening and cropping.
Tech stuff: Manual mode: Canon 5D Mark iii, 1/500 sec, f/9, ISO 250 with a 24 ??“ 105mm f/4L lens at 32mm.

Great colours and setting. A sense of nostalgia exudes from the car and the architecture. The "lady" is an interesting addition. An intriguing visual dialogue between you and the subject. Good work.   Posted: 07/09/2026 04:55:53

A striking "attention getter " and hits the viewer ,in the face, so to speak. Very colourful indeed Martin.   Posted: 07/09/2026 09:31:05

Hi Martin. you gave us literally the "before and after", in these 2 photos. I really prefer the "original" as original with some crop to highlight the 2 "girls". the classic and the modern one. well done.   Posted: 07/11/2026 09:27:03
