About the Image(s)
This image was taken while on a Club outing to the city market. I was standing in the middle of the aisle when I saw this man with a very elaborate neck and back brace come around the corner and walk towards me. As he approached I moved to my right to let him pass, just as he moved to his left to pass me. Suddenly, we were face-to-face! The shutter went off and this image was captured. We both apologised for nearly bumping into each other and we both went on our own way. Tech stuff: Canon R5 camera with 24-105mm F/4L lens at 67mm. 1/80 sec, f/9, ISO 12800.

The encounter by chance. A good story and portrait of a distinguished gentleman, a visitor from another time (that is my story).
The setting and the gentleman become in sync. His presence and firm but welcoming eye contact are a greeting offered to you and your camera.
I appreciate the subject's subtle isolation, the framing and peripheral information. Good technique and interesting work.   Posted: 04/06/2026 22:29:09

Hi, Martin. what a "manipulating" story should have been, if you have been changed you perspective. the aged gentleman with the backround sign: fresh is best.   Posted: 04/13/2026 12:13:03
This image shouts "gentleman" and is full of expression and very sharp. One wonders what that intelligent look signifies. ? The environment enhances the image. Personally I have never seen such an elaborate neck and back brace. Well captured Martin   Posted: 04/14/2026 08:47:40
