Walk in Rome by Tom Lee

May 2025 - Walk in Rome

About the Image(s)

I captured this image during a walk in late afternoon. I noticed a woman approaching the corner of the sidewalk, but before I could photograph her, she disappeared around the bend. Drawn to the scene’s potential, I decided to wait for another opportunity. Soon, a couple appeared, perfectly completing my composition. It was taken with a Lumix G9 Mk2 and a Leica 12-60mm lens, set at 1/100 sec, f/4, ISO 200, and 60 mm focal length. I processed it with Lightroom and Photo AI ??” initial tonal tweaks in Lightroom, noise smoothed out in Photo AI, and final local masks for dodging and burning to sculpt the interplay of light and shadow.

Beautifully captured. The right light and shadows surround the couple. I think the image is processed correctly. I like that their path is turning following the sidewalk and the wall lines. Well done.   Posted: 05/08/2025 09:28:44

very romantic perspective that sweetly illuminates their hair. I would prefer a little crop on the right side.   Posted: 05/09/2025 14:24:17

Good lighting and timing makes this a good telling story of what life is all about.   Posted: 05/11/2025 07:16:34
