About the Image(s)

Chesapeake Fire and Ice Festival 2025; 1/250, f1.8, ISO 64, 50mm. For the B&W conversion, I start with a raw file. In Lightroom: Adjust Exposure, Contrast, Temperature, Dehaze, make the initial B&W conversion. In Nik Silver Efex: Refine the B&W conversion. In Photoshop: resize, and save copy as a jpeg.

This is an interesting photojournalism shot. I like your crop very much. I think I like the color version slightly better. Your whites seem a little blown out in spots and the coat has too much contrast without detail. I think it's worth working on.   Posted: 03/14/2025 16:31:20

I also like this image and your crop, Charles. However, to me, even though it works well in BW, the conversion appears a little over-processed, giving the sculpture a slightly unreal quality.   Posted: 03/20/2025 01:53:35

I like that is telling a story. Some of the highlights can be tones done. I am not sure of over processed as I see things, then go to color image and it has the same thing. I feel you have such sharp focus is showing every detail. I also like your crop.   Posted: 03/29/2025 13:47:22
