Tower Bridge, London by Danielle Collier

October 2026 - Tower Bridge, London

About the Image(s)

This is a picture I took two weeks ago. Tower Bridge is my favorite London attraction. I have multitudes of images I've taken of this bridge over the years. This was the first time I was able to capture it from the Thames River. I took this from a water taxi. It is also the first time it was decently bright outside as well. It is your typical tourist image but I was pleasantly surprised that an older double decker bus entered the scene and I waited to capture the image until it was approaching the middle of the bridge span.

Image captured on a Canon R50 with my 18-55mm lens at 25mm. F/8, ISO 100 and shutter speed of 1/500. I did increase the exposure a little and brought out the contrast of the clouds. I used the remove tool in photoshop to take away any pedestrians on the bridge span.

Interesting you caught the double decker almost dead center of the bridge. Nice view from the boat tour along the river with good sharpness and color. I think you could lower the exposure a little bit oddly enough, I think the top third is a little bright. You could also lower the highlights and up the shadows a pinch to compensate. You are also slight off level with the left going down a little.   Posted: 10/09/2026 23:43:42

Thank you, I will try and make those changes and see what it looks like. I always seem to be off with my level, I really need to work on that and make sure my level is set on my camera.   Posted: 10/10/2026 01:01:31
