About the Image(s)
This abstract image was created by using a frozen water balloon. The balloon was removed and it left a chuck of ice. I then used lights and as the ice melted food coloring was added to the ice which was melting, which formed the texture, colors and veins. This was a fun project taken on a hot smoky day. Taken on a tripod, with a Sony A1 II and a 100mm macro lens. ISO 640, f8.0 at 1/40th of a second. This image is a photo stack that was combined in Helicon Focus.

A very interesting photo! Without your description it made me think it was topography taken from a high elevation. I may have to try this myself.   Posted: 08/08/2026 21:38:21
