Achill Sheep by Danielle Collier

April 2026 - Achill Sheep

About the Image(s)

Achill Island Sheep. I was able to get this photo of a sheep near Keem Beach in Ireland. The sheep were wandering on the roads, beach, and hillside. I cropped a little of the hillside out and the foreground

Danielle,
It was sure fun seeing sheep all over the place with those splashes of color to identify the owners! I think that this image might be better is shot as a horizontal, rather than a vertical, where the viewer might see the lager landscape that this sheep lives in.   Posted: 04/02/2026 19:03:39

This is a beautiful scene with such an interesting subject and background.I think the splashes of color in the wool complement the purplish hue of the rocks that appear to climb upward in the image.Suggest, cloning out that white oval in front of the sheep to give a bit more space for the animal to roam or give the illusion of more space.   Posted: 04/06/2026 05:44:12

A great reminder of our trip to Ireland! I keep asking myself if this is a landscape, or a photo of a sheep. If a landscape, I'd like to see more of it. If a sheep, how about cropping down from the top to the large rocks.   Posted: 04/10/2026 03:13:19

What a fun photo, I had no idea why the sheep was paintd and wonder if the paint degrades the wool. I agree with David I think a horizontal image would look better. The landscape is stunning and it would be nice to show it off.   Posted: 04/13/2026 16:01:27
