The topic for my club’s April salon is “Event” and we must follow the rules for photojournalism. This essentially means no cloning things in or out. Our club has an agreement with the city of Eagan, Minnesota that we will take photos for various city events (mostly parks and rec activities) and in return they give us meeting space for our monthly meetings. It is a win-win for both of us. For one of my entries for the salon I chose this photo of the mayor delivering his annual State of the City address. I felt that this would be typical for a photo published in the local newspaper of this annual event.

I think that this is a well composed image and would certainly suit its purpose that is, getting published on social media or local newspaper.
I would try to crop the image slightly as I find the heads located at the edges to be distracting. Posted: 04/20/2025 20:34:23
