About the Image(s)

The event was just spectacular and was drawn by the spectrum of colours. The visual of the woman and the little girl just drew my attention, perhaps the interaction between the two. Love this photo but sometimes What are your honest thoughts please?

Hi Mark

Not sure if all your write-up made it to the post or not, your last sentence seems like it's missing part of what you intended to say.

Anyway, I do like the vibrant colors, and against that blue sky I can see why they caught your attention. The angle has my eye going straight to this gal's butt, which if that was the intent - well done! If not, a consideration for next time would be to try getting a little higher perspective. As it's framed, it feels like you took the shot from your knee and shot right at waste level.

As to the interaction between these two, something that might help to reinforce that message would be to ensure capturing a shot w/the kiddo's face exposed.

The blacks of her shirt, hat and purse are blown out, resulting in a loss of detail, which is something to watch moving forward.   Posted: 11/16/2024 19:53:40

Hi Josh,
Thank you for the comments. True that the blacks are a bit blown out but there isn't too much detail to show in my opinion.

It is very true that the main focus would be the woman's behind and the more I look at the picture the more I see it. But somehow, the good moments experienced during this event seem to cancel the negatives, I you will.

This image was taken from a pathway which happens to be well below the subjects. So it was easy to take this shot at eye level.

Overall, the colors of this image are vivid and what draws me. Certainly, I do conquer with the comments and therefore thanks.

I guess, I will be treating this image more as a snap.

Mark,
I agree with the other commenters. The colors are great, especially the pinwheel that the woman is holding. To make this work a lot better, we need to see the girl's face.   Posted: 11/21/2024 22:06:54
