About the Image(s)

hy I chose this image - simply it is an illustration of life, two women discussion over coffee. I also liked the sign behind the table. The image was taken near Independence Mall in Philadelphia using a D810, 50mm f/1.4 lens. Processing accomplished in Photoshop and SilverEfex Pro 7.

Ed, I really love this image. It looks like it could be a 1960's ad for a coffee product. I like how you've framed it and I like the pocket book in the middle of the table, the cut off ad slogan, which makes the viewer fill in the missing words, I like the intensity of the woman's faces, the earing on the woman on the right, and, in a little more of a quirky reaction, I love the way the woman on the right is holding her coffee - very unique way to hold it. This photo works for me on so many levels. Really nice capture!   Posted: 04/08/2026 22:45:02

Thank you Robert I appreciate your comments. It was, for me, one of those moments that cannot be planned. They simply are - I was fortunate in location and timing.   Posted: 04/12/2026 21:17:02

Hi Ed, I love the image, too. I think that it is a very fine street photo that captures an intimate moment with gentle humor. I think that everything works together: the intensive contact between the two ladies, the poster on the wall, the coffee mug and the purse on the table, all in a balanced composition. Like Robert says, the image works in so many levels.   Posted: 04/12/2026 20:37:16

The composition is perfect. The gentle curves of the women's backs reinforces he intensity of their versification. The straight lines don't distract, but give some dynamism to the scene. The contrast is pleasing and keeps the viewers' attention on the subjects. The cup of coffee held just in front to the mouth is the decisive moment perfected by Cartier-Bresson-- a master of strteet photographyu   Posted: 04/13/2026 19:23:21

Thank you for your thoughts Albert. I am still learning how to capture the moment. Will use the input to encourage more efforts on my part.   Posted: 04/14/2026 02:01:53
