At a local beach, I captured the tide gently weaving through the rocks. With low tide conditions, the ocean remained calm rather than the dramatic power of high tide which I prefer. Post processing was done in LR using both global and local adjustments and removal of distractions, followed by BW conversion in Nik and the addition of a subtle glow effect in ON1. Canon R5, ISO 500, F11, 1/3 sec, tripod mounted.

Hi Barbara,
This is a wonderful photo. I like the contrast of the waves moving into the foreground as the rocks take the viewer into the photo. I also like how the rocks and the dark clouds compliment one another. And the shutter speed is perfect for the "softly" title that you convey. My only suggestion would be maybe to increase the brightness a little bit. Otherwise, a very peaceful photo to look at. Posted: 12/17/2025 21:19:38
