About the Image(s)

This is a photo of The Plaza de Espana in Seville, Spain.
I was interested in the geometric patterns of the scene.

Hi Robert, what a collection of lines, curves and arches both on the ground and in the beautiful reflection! I think that B&W is just the right way to direct attention to the patterns without distractions. The camera angle allows the river to direct the viewer into the image. I love the way the curved leading line of the river breaks the symmetry in the image.   Posted: 07/08/2025 19:27:32

Thanks, Kirsti! There were many other opportunities that day for photos but this was one of my favorites.   Posted: 07/09/2025 20:48:06

Hi Robert. Nicely executed architectural photo. The composition feels harmonious and well-balanced with the leading lines and curves. The repeating archways add a nice visual pattern to the image. I also like the texture and reflection. I'm curious how the image might change if the shadows within the archways were lifted and a bit of dehaze was added to the sky - could introduce more drama to the scene. Beautiful image.   Posted: 07/09/2025 12:34:54

Thanks for those suggestions, Barbara. I will give them a try and see how it changes the image. Much appreciated.

Bob, I think this is a very exciting photograph. The repetition of the curves in various sizes and perspectives creates a composition that holds a viewers interest. To use a musical analogy, this is a theme and variations combined with flawless tonal balance (there are tones from 1 to 10)This photograph deserves a promionent spot on a wall   Posted: 07/15/2025 01:35:52

A really nice image Robert. The quiet reflection, and the scene with people in a quiet place speak to me of peace, serenity. I was also impressed with the level of detail in the decorations on the building as well as the mirrored geometric shapes as seen in the water.

I might have softened the contrast a bit, but other than that I have no suggestions for improvement.

Thank you for sharing it with us.   Posted: 07/19/2025 01:17:17
