Another fantastic image, Jeff.
The exposure is spot on and the contrast if perfect.
The depth created with foreground and middle ground leading to the subject is very effective.
I also like how the clouds act almost like leading lines to the subject.
I go back and forth with whether the foreground might be toned down just a bit, but other than that, nothing I can offer to improve this wonderful photo.   Posted: 04/09/2025 15:10:39

Hi Jeff! It is amazing what hidden drama and power the B&W conversion reveals in a perfect landscape image. I love the subtle play of light and shadows in the grass in the middle ground. It makes a lovely contrast to bright branches in the foreground and the dramatic shadows of the gorge. - It is like stepping into the image in that darker area at the bottom edge and following the river deeper and deeper into the scene.   Posted: 04/09/2025 18:45:49

Hi Jeff!

Your photo and conversion is a perfect example of what I love about monochrome photography. The difference in the two images is striking and the b&w is engaging and inviting. It's not just a picture -- it's an experience.

Thank you!   Posted: 04/12/2025 16:58:44

Hi Jeff. Beautiful image. Your black and white conversion is excellent, capturing a full range of tones that show off the details in both highlights and shadows. I like the soft effect of the foreground grass on the right side of the frame as it complements the rugged terrain. I'm a bit undecided about the bush in the left corner - I'm not sure if it was intentionally included or if it was unavoidable due to the location. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful image.   Posted: 04/16/2025 16:02:51

Hi Barbara and thanks for the comments. I know I could have gotten down to where I really wanted to be to take the shot, but getting back up looked a little "iffy"!   Posted: 04/16/2025 20:22:27
