About the Image(s)

The image was taken at a Heavy Horse Show near where we live. There were a number of different breeds of heavy horses which were being judged for a variety of activities, one of which was running towards the judge. I have no idea what the judge is looking for but I thought it made a good picture. I cropped the original, added some blur to the spectators and desaturated the yellows and reds a little. Picture was taken at 1/320 sec, f8, ISO 200.

Another wonderful image with a strong story. I've never been to a horse show, but I can still understand what is happening even without reading the background information. The horse and trainer show action while the judge watches intently. Your post-process blurring of the spectators and cropping make the three key subjects stand out nicely. Well done!   Posted: 07/03/2024 18:58:34

A nice photojournalism shot. I agree with David that blurring the background really brought out your main subjects. Your focus, exposure and clarity on the foreground are great. I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 07/05/2024 14:19:53

It make sense of your crop and modification to the original to the final image, removing the otherwise distraction elements from the frame.   Posted: 07/08/2024 14:53:15

It is interesting to see the image in the horse show. The post-processing by blurring of the background really make the subjects more distinct. But it would be more nature to make a blurring transition between the lawn and the background.   Posted: 07/30/2024 09:56:06
