Many years ago I was lucky enough to be at the San Antonio Zoo with my Nikon D600 and a 500mm I had rented. They zoo had just recently let the cubs out for public display and I was able to get some nice shots of them. Shot at 500mm 1/320 , f6.3 at iso 300. Post processed in Adobe Photoshop using Nik silver efex pro for the black and white conversion.

I like your capture of a mother tiger and her cub snuggled next to each other. I also see a second cub's head behind the cub in front. The decision to make the image a panorama confuses me little because the area on either side don't seem to add much to the important part of the image - the faces of the mother and cub. Great photo of the mother and cub. Their eyes are very sharp and captivating and your focus throughout is good. I agree with David that a closer crop would enhance the image and bring more attention to the two main subjects. I also brightened their eyes just a bit. Posted: 08/09/2026 21:17:50

I love tigers. To me, they are the most beautiful animal. I like the proximity of the cub and mother, with mom keeping a watchful eye out. It is a nicely exposed and sharp image, with good attention to the eyes. Tiger images convert well to B&W and I like the way you did this one.
I do agree that the logs take some attention away from the subject, but only for a second, until we realize there is nothing there to see. But, it is always judgmental as to where to try to crop an image like this, because you can't get rid of the trees entirely.
I think the cub's face could be brightened up a little, as well, and what a cute little white mustache he/she has.
