About the Image(s)
The photo is of a cosplayer playing Jinx at this year's Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. Taken on my Nikon Z6III handheld with a Tameron 35-150MM telephoto lens and the Godox V100 flash on camera with a flashbender acting as a diffuser. I processed it in DxO PureRaw 6 and Lightroom to crop it slightly, then brought it into Photoshop, where I composited a stock image for the background to make it more in-world and used Photoshop's Harmonize filter to blend the subject layer into the background layer more naturally.

Hi, Patrick, and welcome to our group! I've shot cosplayers a couple times, but I can't say I really understood what I was doing or trying to achieve. So, I'm not sure how to provide useful comments on your image. I do, however, like how you blended the cosplayer with the simulated background. They go together perfectly especially the way you harmonized the tones.   Posted: 07/01/2026 21:40:00
Thank you. As a comic and Sci-fi nerd myself, I think the point of cosplay photography is to draw attention to how much love and care the cosplayer has put into their costume to create a photo of the character come to life.   Posted: 07/10/2026 11:59:56
This is an interesting, creative and almost graphic art piece. Your original photo was well captured and had good focus. You put her into a unique and interesting setting that really fit and you did a great job of making a composite. Since the background was not your original work, this could not be entered into a PSA competition, but probably not your intent. It's very well done and interesting.   Posted: 07/02/2026 14:15:29
Welcome to the group Patrick. I have never heard of cosplayers so this is something new for me. This one certainly has made for a good photograph and you have blended the cosplayer into the background well. Composites are good fun to do and I am often impressed with the way they are conceived and executed.   Posted: 07/05/2026 22:37:38
