Tybee Island Pier at Sunrise by Phyllis Peterson

January 2025 - Tybee Island Pier at Sunrise

About the Image(s)

Camera: Nikon D810 with 24-70 mm lens set at 58 mm.
Settings in camera: Shutter: 2.5 sec, Aperture: f/14, ISO: 400
I used a tripod.
Editing: Edited in Lightroom. Increase the exposure, increase in light on the pier building.

The Pier was taken just before sunrise.
I like the colorful light of the sun as it brightens up the water.
I also like the angle of the supporting beams in the water.

Phyllis, you captured a beautiful image with this one! I especially like the way the colorful sunrise backlights the diagonal pier supports and their reflection at the bottom. I also find the clear blue sky works in this image to create a simple framing of the pier with no distractions. Very nice!   Posted: 01/03/2025 15:04:21

wow, nice capture!

I especially like the color, shadow, and the cast on sands. lovely, In that, the structure on top only serves as an supporting role. However, the building on top, also shows an strong contrast with the bottom half, complement   Posted: 01/03/2025 17:41:00

Wow! This has impact and is beautiful. This just might be my favorite all-time photo of yours. I have no suggestions for improvement except print it on metal and hang! Gorgeous!   Posted: 01/04/2025 17:18:07

This is a wonderful shot of the pier and taken just at the right time of day. An interesting option would be a long exposure to flatten the water and sharpen the reflections but that is in addition to and not to replace this one. One small improvement would be to straighten the horizon to the horizontal. A great image.   Posted: 01/19/2025 11:11:17
