About the Image(s)

This image was taken at Longwood Gardens as I was having lunch sitting in a tent with clear vinyl walls. Shooting through the clear vinyl walls gave the image a somewhat painterly look. I processed the image in Lightroom to enhance the colors and filled a portion of the scene where the clear wall ended using Photoshop's Generative Fill AI.

Te colors are gorgeous; especially the golden yellow and blue together. Isn't the generative fill great? I like the paintery/impressionistic look. My only concern is that the figure in pink seems to have lost her head. You could probably clone something there and maybe darken the head of the other figure.   Posted: 12/03/2024 02:45:46

Yes, Generative Fill is a great tool when used judiciously. You're right about the woman's head blending with the tree trunk. I'll have to try something. How's this?   Posted: 12/03/2024 12:25:44

Interesting effect, thanks, got to try that in the cold freeze winter, good to know.
Just a thought, might try to crop down a liitle from the top, and doesn't hurt at all the image.   Posted: 12/04/2024 16:15:38

Thanks, Charlie! I'll give it a try. That dark patch of leaves bothers me a little.   Posted: 12/07/2024 11:41:45

When I first saw this image I thought it had been taken through a window on a rainy day but of course the sun rarely shines when it rains. The Generative Fill AI has worked well to fill the missing area. Your response to Cindy's suggestion to give the lady a head is a big improvement to a very interesting image. In relation to AI, I recently used the new Remove Tool in Photoshop to take out a lot of people around a shot of a cathedral and I was amazed how accurate it was and also the quality of the areas that it replaced.   Posted: 12/07/2024 00:24:22

Thank you, Robert! Yes, I the use the Remove Tool quite often, maybe too often.   Posted: 12/07/2024 11:43:11
