About the Image(s)
Big Easy is a restaurant in Canary Wharf in the East End of London. Canary Wharf is a massive commercial and residential redevelopment of the old London Docks and is a delight for architectural photography. I carried out some sectional adjustments in Photoshop to bring out a little more detail and took out the slightly converging verticals. Image was taken at 1/50 sec, f14 and ISO 64 on a tripod.

This is a wonderful image with the mix of unusual architecture. I like the juxtaposition of the Big Easy's rounded shape with the straight lines and square shapes of the surrounding buildings. It looks like an open mouth of a huge shark. A nicely seen composition!   Posted: 11/03/2024 11:29:07

A nice architectural scene with great details and exposure. Your composition is good, too. My only nit-pick suggestion is to clone out the several dots in the water. Not a big deal, but I notice them.   Posted: 11/03/2024 20:16:35

Indeed a wonderful place for arch photo, lines, curves, light and shadows. Nice location.
One little note, see if you can bring out a tad of shadow in the dark area. just a little, especially the steps under the shell curve structure. I'd like to see some gradual darken toward the "big easy".   Posted: 11/12/2024 14:53:59

Thanks Charlie. I have lightened the dark area below the platform of the restaurant but as I recall there was very little detail in that part of the building, only faint horizontal lines that were only noticeable from nearer to the building. I have also removed the spots that Cindy refers to. I think I will go back and take a little more time because I was in a group and the amount of time we each had from that vantage point was limited.   Posted: 11/18/2024 10:06:57

To me, the image is very underexposed to begin with therefiore, most of the detail is not salvageable.
