Rotterdam #2 by Brad Ashbrook

July 2024 - Rotterdam #2

About the Image(s)

Another view of Rotterdam from the deck of my cruise ship. This time, showing more of the cool bridge that you cross after leaving the ship. This is a 2, 4 exposures per shot pano processed in LR. Made some basic adjustments and then to PS and Color Efex 6 for a little warming and dehaze.

Clean blend and stitch, so good looking from that perspective. I have a feeling this is pretty much what you saw, but for me it is a bit bright on the sky and muted on the land and bridge. Any thought to dropping the sky a bit and boosting the land side a bit to a closer balance?   Posted: 07/15/2024 20:26:46

Compared to the view you showed a couple of months ago, I see why I thought the image was on a bit of a slant. I prefer Rick's version with the brightened buildings and slightly darker sky.   Posted: 07/16/2024 20:59:22

Nice perspective and your process worked well. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating. I'd like to see some additional work on the sky to bring out any details.   Posted: 07/17/2024 17:23:01

Love the pano look of this.

The composition is sweet, but the bottom seems too dark, especially for a HDR. The buildings need more pop

I prefer Rick's version with the brightened buildings.   Posted: 07/23/2024 05:15:50

I find the city needs more lighting to bring out details. It is a good and interesting pano. The other suggestion are good.   Posted: 07/24/2024 00:58:48

I agree with Max. To my eye, the image seems somewhat flat.Perhaps boosting treatment in curves would bring out the detail.   Posted: 07/30/2024 19:04:43
