It was taken in Virginia City, Montana. It is a small community that has kept the old part of it and the small town's main industry is tourists. Many buildings are closed but are made up and kept the way they were in the 1800's to 1920's regarding articles in the buildings. I took this image in June 2017 on a trip to Yellowstone through the interesting country leading to West Yellowstone. Camera was my Nikon 750 with the 24-120 f/4. The focal length was 24mm. The settings were f1/50, 1/15, and 1/3 with an ISO 500. My technique was to clean a part of the window and hold the camera lens solidly against the window and this served to prevent movement. It was 3 images with 1 stop opening differential.

Perfect! Love the colors and the depth in the image! Reminds me of the general stores in the old westerns. I expect there's a buckboard hitched up out front.   Posted: 09/14/2023 08:18:48

Very nice work on the blend and tones. It has an entirely realistic feel to it. The detail is also top notch. My one wish would be to pull back on the crate in front to lessen the pull on my eye in that direction.   Posted: 09/16/2023 13:53:59

Well done, Max. I cannot add anything to what others have said about this image. It takes me back to the olden days.   Posted: 09/18/2023 10:29:27

Wonderful image and so natural looking with your roughly +2 and -2 frames. Really like the cash register, really the focal point. Might be interesting to reduce the blue saturation on the crate to see if it stops your eyes form noticing.   Posted: 09/18/2023 11:07:12
