About the Image(s)

Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan was created by Henry Ford and opened in 1929, Greenfield Village is a living history museum celebrating American innovation and everyday life. Its historic buildings, period crafts, and working exhibits bring the past to life through authentic settings and demonstrations.

Originally built in the 1620s in the Cotswold Hills of Gloucestershire, England, it was a typical English stone cottage that once housed weavers who worked in their homes during the early textile industry. Henry Ford purchased the cottage and had it dismantled and shipped to Dearborn, Michigan, in 1930, where it was reassembled stone by stone inside Greenfield Village.

This image was a typical three exposure +2, 0 and -2 exposure. The Raw files were processed in DxO Pure Raw 5, and then processed in Aurora HDR. I then used a technique I learned from Tim Grey at the recent PSA conference of setting both White and Black point settings. From there I tweaked a few settings such as Clarity and Dehaze and reduced the yellow to strengthen the greens. I also sharpened the image with Topaz Sharpen AI and added a rather heavy vignette to darken the edges which gave the garden more pop.
