About the Image(s)

Every year we visit Stone Harbor for week. A few years back I started using my crystal spheres for a unique perspective on the morning sunrise and surf. I try and challenge myself when it comes to improving or revamping a new/old concept. I found that adding additional sphere’s can produce some pretty cool effects. Remember that each sphere reverses the one behind it. So the first couple years I got some reverse sunrises. The other challenge is that bright morning sun can cause unintentional glare and sometimes be challenging. HDR helps grab some control over that. This year I went for something different. This is an image of three sphere’s lined up to the exact(ish) point of where the sun was going to rise. I spent most of my time laying on the ground and looking through the lens to perfectly line the sphere’s. I was able to capture several, but I liked the symmetry and fine art feel of this one.

Also attached is an image showing how the spheres were aligned. I don’t know if you put that up Or I do in comments. Or if it’s even needed.

HDR image, 5 exposures +/-.07, ISO 400, Nikon Z-9, 105mm macro.
