Each year Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit conducts a Freedom Festival Service that includes our Canadian neighbors. The service features a Bagpipe band that concludes the service with Amazing Grace accompanied by the organ.

This is an iPhone picture captured on my iPhone 14 Pro Maz using a new Adobe Labs camera app, Project Indigo. Project Indigo - a computational photography camera app

Project Indigo is a new computational photography camera app that promises to leverage the significant advancements in computational photography made over the last decade-plus to help mobile photographers capture better-quality images. This is accomplished by creating up to 32 separate layers combined into one image.

I have photographed this church on several occasions and I know of the challenges of getting good overall exposure from the stained glass windows, to the light fixtures and the gold highlights on the back altar. POst processing was minimal except for a slight vignette and an added stroke.

An interesting shot, Bill. I just heard of Indigo a week or 2 ago but haven't gotten around to trying it, it's on the mental list of things I'd like to try. You were right not to try straightening this shot, it would cut much of the flag off. But I was wondering how it would look if your were to make the back wall vertical and let the edge on the right slanted.

Pretty interesting and looks like a difficult location to get a simple photo with everything going on. The exposure looks spot on and very even throughout, thanks to Indigo?   Posted: 07/16/2025 16:33:50
