About the Image(s)
This happens to be in the park where I go to photograph the stars. This is a 6 shot bracket to get the small window inside from blowing out. After merging in LR, used multiple sliders, big highlight and shadow, texture, clarity, haze and vibrance. A couple of lens & optical corrections, this was a bear to straighten. Then off to PS for a little fill in the corners and NIK detail extractor and contrast.

Rick, your HDR treatment has really brought out the detail in the back windows of this chapel. But I am a bit surprised that there wasn't some detail revealed in the back wall around the windows. Was it not possible to straighten the image a bit in Lightroom Classic?   Posted: 07/15/2025 18:03:44
I played around quite a bit with straightening, but it still looks odd. There wasn't anything to see on the back wall, more worried about the window.   Posted: 07/15/2025 18:06:27
For the lighting you had on the church versus the surroundings I feel your blend and tones are pretty much on the money. Odd that between the lens corrections and the optical corrections in Lightroom it wouldn't true the verticals up more effectively. Did you try the corrections after doing the merge or before on the raw files and then sync the raw files? The brighter light on the building on the left side does tend to pull my eye that way. I found it interesting that the rest of the background in the same light did not have the same tendency.   Posted: 07/24/2025 16:57:45
After the merge, do you think it would make a difference?   Posted: 07/24/2025 18:33:27
When I have had an issue, I have found that doing one (probably the middle exposure) first and then syncing the others with that applied the correction more effectively. It would be an interesting experiment to see if it did make a difference.   Posted: 07/24/2025 21:07:27
Very nice composition. Your processing makes this picture. The overall tonal values are spot on and smooth. The only distraction is that bright building on the left side.   Posted: 07/27/2025 17:33:27
