The Corral Store by Max Burke, APSA

About the Image(s)

The Corral Store was very old and had been vacant for about 25 years. It is in a central Idaho location named Fairfield on a highway 20 that goes north from East of Mtn Home. It runs through some Sagebrush hills on a winding highway that eventually you will see an elevator and a few farm homes, then before Fairfield. Our family with our three young children traveled from Boise when it was open so we stopped for candy and relief.

My Nikon D600 Camera took this picture about 2013 using a Nikon 24.0mm -124.00mm f/4. The focal length was 38mm. The HRD was using three exposures with one stop separation (1/800, 1/1600 and 1/3200). The settings were f8, and ISO of 640. It was handheld. I used Photomatix Pro 7, and with Photoshop I alighted the finished image, made most of the light changes, and did some masking to control the shadows on the building's entrance and windows, adjusted to increase slight texture and lighting adjustment and clarity. I also did some masking on the trees and sky, then did some contrast.
