About the Image(s)

I decided to go back into some older files and found this image from a Concours D'elegance in the Detroit area several years ago. This was photographed with my Canon 7D on a tripod with the Canon 24-105 lens. It was three exposures, +2, -2 and 0.

The files were processed in DxO Pure Raw 4 and converted to DNG files. These files were processed in Photoshop Pro HDR. I used the Auto setting, removed a display card inn the window using Generative Fill, added an edge darkening vignette and opened the image in Topaz Photo AI to clean up and sharpen. My final step was to add a two pixel grey stroke to the border.

A beautiful subject indeed, a style that is long gone. Overall the image is nicely presented and I am sure the owner would hang it on his wall proudly. Nothing really to improve, a pinch of contrast perhaps? Interesting, if you had not mentioned that you FILLED a display card, would never have known. Now that I know, you can definitely see where it was, but certainly not an issue.   Posted: 04/16/2025 18:06:39

Nice initial impact and an interesting subject. The basics look good to me including the smooth blend and realistic tonal range. I wouldn't say no, to selecting the car and using something like a mids 3 mask to boost the contrast in the midtones slightly, but what you have is entirely reasonable for the relatively muted lighting. As nice as the setting is, I do find myself wishing the trees behind the car weren't there or were at least less distinct. My other thought was on the dark object that occupies a portion of the back window and wondering if removing it so that there is only green showing might be a mild plus.   Posted: 04/19/2025 02:42:48

Hey Rick, I cleaned up the rear window, Softened the background using Photoshop Lens Blur and I also removed the number sticker on the right headlamp.   Posted: 04/19/2025 17:01:45
