About the Image(s)

A couple of years ago, while en route to the spring photo tour in Tennessee, I stopped at this covered bridge just off I-79 in the hills of West Virginia. I took the usual set of bracketed images, which I tone mapped using Nik HDR Efex Pro and a "realistic" preset. There were a number of lens flares present, which I more recently worked on using the remove tool in Photoshop. In addition, the sides of the bridge had been partially repainted at some time in the past, so I selected the siding area using the color range tool in Photoshop and painted the more vivid color over the entire sides and end of the bridge using the color blend mode. Enjoy!

Very cool covered bridge and the blend looks very natural. The green bench provides a nice focal point in the scene. You did a nice job with the corrections and I might have considered removing the wood piece up front.   Posted: 02/18/2025 17:42:52

Nicely done on the corrections. I'm intrigued by the covered bridges from an architectural standpoint. So few actually left standing.Always a great photo op.   Posted: 02/19/2025 15:44:37

Nicely done. The blend looks good and the removal of the flare spots is very nicely handled as was getting a uniform color on the side of the bridge. I'm inclined to agree with Brad on eliminating the post in the front. I would also consider adding a bit more contrast at least in the midtones.   Posted: 02/20/2025 18:28:22

There aren't any covered bridged in Idaho to my knowledge. This makes a well done and worked subject. One of your best. I first viewed the Wooden post be removed. That would made it even better yet.   Posted: 02/21/2025 04:36:05
