December 2024 - Three versus One

About the Image(s)

This is from our cruise back in March with a stop in Lubeck Germany. I thought the 4 people were interesting, not sure if they make for interesting photo though. I did remove a whitish square and another area in the arch which you will probably notice now. This is a 4 bracket shot processed with Photomatix (love the bulk), basic edits in LR including transform, then off to PS. Then some cleanup and finally Color Efex.

Nice smooth blend. Looks like overcast, flat lighting which holds back the impact a little. I like the white column over the lone figure as it helps to cement that one as the anchor point for me. Are you losing too much, particularly on the figure at the left, if you do perspective correction on the verticals?   Posted: 12/16/2024 02:50:44

I did, that's why it is very tight. I could have done content aware fill. I like the image, but this group might be the only ones who see it. BTW, it was quite overcast.   Posted: 12/16/2024 02:54:42

There are some interesting detyails here. I'm not sure you would actually have needed HDR, considering your mention of its being quite overcast and no sky in the image.   Posted: 12/18/2024 20:58:36
