About the Image(s)
This month's image is the ceiling of a restaurant in the recently restored Michigan Central Station. In 2018 Ford Motor Company purchased the long vacant and abandoned Michigan Central Station and spent about one billion dollars restoring the building to its former glory.
This was shot with my Canon R7 and a 10-22 WA zoom lens at +2, -2 and 0. It was processed in Photomatix 7.0 and fine tuned in Photoshop and Topaz Photo AI. The lighting was tricky because of the LED lighting and natural daylight. The true color of the ceiling was white.

The architecture is amazing. The blend is clean and smooth. The warm tones work for me. The light grays at the top do pull my eye up and away from the lower section where I find the arches to be more interesting. Maybe it is all the curves, but I don't mind the perspective distortion in this case.   Posted: 12/16/2024 02:58:38

Good clean shot, as Rick says the architecture is really amazing and all the work done to restore this station was well worth it. Some might say it would be static, but I would prefer if the line formed by the light fixtures was horizontal rather than slanted.   Posted: 12/18/2024 21:08:54

I thought about arranging the lights horizontally but preferred a slight diagonal. That particular room is full of pictures yet to be seen.   Posted: 12/18/2024 21:12:33
