This scene is about two miles northwest of Ketchum Idaho, a town with many art and crafts places, good quality restaurants, and stores. Of note, Captain Tom who selects individual photographers to show an image in the Chapter Showcase each month. I heard from him and entered my third image that will begin in the Chapters Showcase in mid-November.
I used a tripod to take this image with my D500 Nikon, with 24.0 - 124.0 lens Nikon Lens at 2 stops with the Photomatix Pro 7 using the "optimizer setting" with 1/15 sec, 1/60 sec and 1/250 sec at a f11 setting with an ISO of 100. The focal setting was 38mm. I prepared the original image by removing 6 power lines, a power transformer on a post, adjusting with Photoshop Beta the shadows, removing a road that was at the bottom, and expanding the sky to prepare for a larger size print.

Nice work on this. The scene looks realistic and your adjustments blend in seamlessly. My only nit is what appears to be some lens flare (cyan circle) in the upper right   Posted: 11/17/2024 00:47:03

Thanks for letting me know I did not pay attention to the circle likely a sunspot in the lens. This is now exactly how I fixed it.   Posted: 11/17/2024 04:06:10

I will say this, who knew there was all that stuff to remove, good job! You could have added an original to show all the work. That yellow really stands out amongst the bland hillside. Now you just need a RAM or something at the top.   Posted: 11/18/2024 17:48:58
