About the Image(s)

I shot this in Scotland while visiting one of the many castles. What drew me to the scene was the opportunity to peak inside the window and see how the owners live now. Intimate landscapes draw me in.

I love the textures and tones which all work to make this a delightful image. Won't change a thing.   Posted: 08/13/2026 01:29:00

Don't change a thing! This is perfectly composed and exposed. This window surrouded by flowers could easily be a painting. The partially drawn curtain is inviting.   Posted: 08/13/2026 22:26:46

Thank you guys! This photo was actually schosen by the editors of Focus magazine - a GCA publication. It was used to demonstrate "Intimate Landscape." The photo I sent in was slightly different and edited to show more inside the glass window, but it was a very high resolution and in some folder somewhere.   Posted: 08/13/2026 22:48:08

This image really gives us a sense of place. You've set such a mood with this scene. The term intimate landscape perfectly describes the environment. The roses frame the window, then the curtains really add interest to the scene. The texture on the walls is well represented and adds detail that draws my eyes into the image. Nice work, Jill!   Posted: 08/14/2026 12:44:15

Beautiful floral window Beth. Your image is so relaxing to view and holds my gaze. Lovely composition and framing with a frame within a frame using the soft pink flowers against the stone wall. You mention that you have another with more interior detail. For me, the mystery of the inside of the house is all part of the experience. Nice work here, I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 08/22/2026 15:42:57

Here's the original window with more detail. This was the published version.   Posted: 08/23/2026 17:46:51
