This photo is from an Orchid Show at the local Botanical Gardens.
Shot with Canon 6D. I used a tripod and shot with a 24-200 mm lens at 200 mm and F4. f6.3, Iso 64. small fix of framing and some Photoshop adjustments.

Beautiful detail in the orchids Harley. I really like the colors of this flower and your shot shows them off very well. Good work on keeping the bloom in focus with f/6.3. My only suggestion might be to burn the edges of the frame just a bit which would draw the eye into the center more.

No, just the edges. I have an example to show. What I did in Photoshop was to create a radial gradient around the flower and then invert it to select only the background. I then lowered the exposure which made the edges darker. I did this in camera raw in PS. Only a slight change from the original. What do you think?   Posted: 07/13/2026 18:01:53
