Here is something a bit different this month. I wanted to do a creative image for my club and came up with this idea. It is a composite of three images. The camera body, the train tracks and the city scene. There are 10 layers in the Photoshop file for this image. It took me a while since I was learning as I went.
I intended to put someone on the tracks going to the city, but unfortunately I was not able to make it work this time. I may need a bit more practice.
Most of the layers had masks which were used to blend in the elements and give a nice transition.
Once I had everything as I wanted I added a PS LUT to the image to give it an overall color adjustment and cohesive feel. Feel free to critique.

Bruce: You are creative and I have never seen a picture like this. The rail takes you through where the lens would be. This city looks good and makes you look like a winner. I have taken your idea and do something like this. Nice work.   Posted: 04/06/2026 17:18:07

Your post processing skills far exceed mine!. You have agreat imagination. The image is quite compelling. The train tracks are a perfect leading line! They take us to the camera body in such a way that the viewer could be the lens! Inside the camera body is a city and that could change in just a moment! This is all about vision to my mind. Very well done!   Posted: 04/06/2026 20:10:42

Thanks Mark, look close. That is downtown Pittsburgh. I like to do stuff like this, but I have a hard time coming up with ideas. Also, my Photoshop skills are limited so anything advanced has me viewing You tube instructions for help.   Posted: 04/06/2026 21:12:14

Bruce, this is a really imaginitive masterpiece. I could see this image used in advertising. You've combined all of the elements into a successful image to make a very powerful piece. For a learning experience, I think you've shown that you've really mastered the concept. This image is fun and really shows your mastery of a lot of concepts, both photographic and post-production. Bravo!   Posted: 04/13/2026 16:17:53
