About the Image(s)

I didn't do much this past month. I went to a high school football game. I was very disappointed. It was at night and the light was
difficult for me to figure out. I took this with my Pentax K 3 and a Pentax 55 to 300 zoom that wasn't very fast. ISO was 3200 and 1/60th second,
F 5.6. Most of the photos were worthless. This one, while the shutter speed was not fast enough, sort of conveys action.

You got him in the Face. I like the live action but who knows what That would mean. In other words-Can one take it to the bank ? Very Interesting.   Posted: 11/12/2025 23:05:51

I think I was asleep when I wrote this. I meant, it did not seem especially suited for Competition.   Posted: 11/22/2025 18:54:34

Hi Mark, This image doesn't do much for me. As you pointed out, the lens is too slow and the shutter speed far too slow for sports. Next time you might consider using a tripod and not zooming (crop later). You might also try a 6400 ISO, as it is far easier to remove low-light noise than to make a blurry photo sharp.   Posted: 11/13/2025 18:25:13

Hi Mark, I think you are one foot and one foot out with this shot. Much too blurry for an action shot and not blurry enough for a creative shot. Since you can't make it sharper why not take it further? There is great color in the uniforms and interesting solid objects with the ball and helmet. You might play with it a bit in Photoshop and add more blur and perhaps give the background some interesting and colorful texture. Try a different crop or even give the image some rotation so we need to think about what we are seeing. You have a good start to an interesting, creative image.   Posted: 11/19/2025 23:35:19
