About the Image(s)
I went to the Faroe Islands last July. Way too much rain. I took this photo at Funningur. This boat was in a shed.
It reminded me of a Viking ship. The light wasn't good. I did a good bit of dodging. Pentax K3 Mark III, Pentax 12-24
Lens. F 6.3, EV -0.7, ISO 6400, Manual. I have also attached the original image.

Hi Mark,
I'd love to get to the Faroe Islands. How did you get there? I was just at the South Shetlands and then went over to St.Kilda. Fortunately no rain. But in those parts rain and gray light is the norm. You did a good job to find some bright colors in this environment. There are many old boats that will likely never see the sea again, despite their brilliant colors.   Posted: 07/18/2025 05:48:21

Hey Mark. I will respond but am still thinking ??????   Posted: 07/21/2025 23:31:24
Still thinking. My wife saw it and said she liked it, especially the lines. Often her opinion is shared by the majority.   Posted: 07/22/2025 20:32:55
That is safe.   Posted: 07/22/2025 22:14:46
I really like the idea of this scene. I wish there was more density in the shadows behind the boat, but I love the colors and textures of the boat. It really makes you wonder about the adventures the boat has seen. Nice work, Mark!   Posted: 07/22/2025 02:33:35
There was a good bit of dodging done on the back of that boat.   Posted: 07/22/2025 17:18:01
I like your tight crop which tends to concentrate the viewer into the boat. You also did a great job in revealing the shadow area at the back of the boat. It appears that you have also brighten the front part of the boat. These have created good contrast of the boat. Good job!   Posted: 07/24/2025 13:34:53
Thank you Leo   Posted: 07/25/2025 00:14:45
You sure pulled the best out of this one Mark. I really like the colors on the boat and the "well used" and abandoned look it has. I am sure this craft has stories to tell of better times past. For me, the front is the most interesting area in the photo with the bright colors and peeling and bubbling paint. Might I suggest a square crop (or just a bit more) starting just a bit under the bow and ending between the last two cross braces. I think this would help keep the eye focused on the front colors. Nicely found and shot.   Posted: 07/26/2025 18:11:57
Thank you. I will try a square crop.   Posted: 07/26/2025 19:40:32
