About the Image(s)

I tried experimenting with food macrophotography. I photographed my strawberry in a light box with a flower photo as background.

Shot on a tripod with my Canon R7 with multiple photos and in camera photo stacking. f16, ISO100, 100mm f2.8 Canon macro lens at .08 sec. Processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. It was cropped and actually blurred slightly so it did not seem too harsh an image.

WOW! My eyes are popping at such a colorful image. It reminds me of a Fourth of July picnic. Great job at stacking. How many images did you capture? Perfect DOF in front and blurred background.   Posted: 04/16/2025 00:26:02

Thank You Bunny. I cannot recall how many there were because I shot a bunch, one group after another. From the time stamps it seems there were only 5-6. I would have guessed 40 or so. The camera stops when it hits an area that is out of range of the main subject. It think it may use contrast to figure that out. It was stacked in Camera. I was concerned that the photo was too busy. What do you think ?   Posted: 04/16/2025 17:32:58

Well! What an exciting and colorful image. The stacking is perfect. So sharp and clear. An excellent idea with background. Somehow I think the tablecloth pattern would be better. That would really define your strawbwerry. That would also make the photo less busy.   Posted: 04/16/2025 21:51:17

What a transformation that berry went through. The photo stacking really brings out the detail and texture. Nicely put together Harley. Adding the spoon, flowers and tablecloth. I have tried manually focus stacking with a rail in the past and discovered that my patience wear out quickly.
Doing it in camera is the way to go. Thanks for showing us this.   Posted: 04/16/2025 22:39:08

A friend has a poered rail that can be calibrated to the micro-millimeter and syncronize automatically to the shutter. That works well also. That is good when you want to stack with a software program. It may have more versatility.   Posted: 04/17/2025 18:13:53
