About the Image(s)

This was taken in the Faroe Islands in July. A group of puffins is a circus. There isn't anything
Really special about this shot. The weather was absolutely foggy. F 6.3. ISO 800. 1/1600 sec.
-0.3 EV. I went with the full frame Pentax K1 and used a Pentax 150-450 zoom. It was very hard
For an old man like to me to get up the mountain to take these pictures. I like the puffin on
The right. The rear puffins are out of focus because of aperture.

Congratulations on getting up the mountain! I've done my share of puffin chasing, and the weather typically isn't cooperative. Wind, fog, rain, and then the fact that most puffin viewing does require an uphill climb.

You might try using dehaze on just the center puffin to make him pop out of the fog a bit. I like the soft focus of his companions.   Posted: 01/09/2025 22:27:40

I love the expression on the one in the back. I think I would either try to blur the two in the background or take them out.Kudos for climbing up and capturing them. The fog certainly was a plus enhancing their color!   Posted: 01/09/2025 22:35:01

Good shot! I like the sharp bird in front and the 2 blur birds behind. This has created contract in the photo. I understand it was foggy at the time of your shooting; otherwise, the sky would look more colorful.   Posted: 01/17/2025 13:15:45
