What a great historical documentary shot. You even got the helicopter blades just right at 1/200 sec. I had no idea as to how beautiful and modern Hong Kong is. I had no idea about the mountains in the background and beautiful waterway. If I could, this would be enough to have me visit. This should be in the Booklets for this region of China. I am not sure what 1593 represents. All I could find is a famous liquor first made in that year. It is less than 100 years after the founding of America. This image has fantastic story telling elements, Leo. I think you've captured the spirit of the event beautifully. The background of mountains and buildings gives an incredible sense of place. The flags with the helicopters and the water cannons on the boat share the feeling of celebration. The light areas of the water spraying from the boat balance well with the lighter colored building on the right. You must have put a great deal of thought into this! The three helicopters are nicely placed on the right and you even stopped the blades! The glass buildings are reflecting the water and the fire boat is in a perfect position of leading the helicopters. Your composition is good with just enough sky and just enough water. You are becoming a master cityscape photographer. I grew up in Pittsburgh and the largest grocery store chain is "Giant Eagle". Beautiful image Leo. You have nailed the landscape / city shot with three layers. First you have the fire boat shooting water as the main subject with a beautiful background of modern architecture and to top it all off we see the mountains in the background.
