About the Image(s)
I took this with my DJI Mini 4 Pro drone. This is a screen shot off of a 4K Video. It has a 2.8 aperture but does have ISO and Speed adjustments I cannot recall what I had it set to, but I did use a polarizer. There is also auto ad manual focus. I have been all over to try and get an image of some architecture or Landscape where I am allowed to fly (or undetectable) and ended up finding this 2 block from my house. It is the exclusive part of town down a hill and on the lake. Without a drone it is very difficult to get to . It is behind a forested area and only accessible by a private road. Nice family digs.

Hi Harley,
Do you know what the PSA policy is on drone photography? From your description, it sounds as if you flew your drone over private property without permission.   Posted: 11/09/2024 04:44:29

No, it is high in air space over Lake Michigan. To get there and back, it was over public woods. Did actually have permission from someone I know people who have a house there and now has a photo. I did not know the policy but legally air space is an ambiguous area I have actually been reviewing lately. I do not yet not know the PSA policy though. See attached.   Posted: 11/09/2024 17:14:59

I do not understand what happened with the legal documents, but they're easily found online. I am located in Illinois, but if you check you'll find that they're very ambiguous.   Posted: 11/17/2024 02:02:54

Cool shot of a cool house Harley. Looks like you are getting better with the drone. Is this an unedited shot from the video, or were you able to process it in a program such as Lightroom?
It does seem, to me, to have a bit too much yellow in the foliage areas though. I wonder if that has something to do with the filters you were using? Was your flight path photo generated by the drone? Sorry for all the questions, but I am considering getting one of these myself.   Posted: 11/15/2024 23:12:31

Hey Bruce. The drone is fun but would be even better if I was traveling more. By the way I edited the video with a program named DiVinci Resolve which is free. If you want it with all the professional bells and whistles there are charges. The learning curve was steep to me. I also shot it with a polarizer. This was a screenshot from the video which I processed with Lightroom and Photoshop so I am not sure which caused the yellow. I programmed the trajectory and camera directions with the computer and a program called Litchi. A complete simulation is made with Google earth. The 3d simulation is then put in the controller. There are a couple of steps more but to make it shorter- all you have to do is press the button and it performs exactly as the simulation and lands back at the same spot.Let me know what else you would like to know or let me know how to contact you if it would not benefit the groups.   Posted: 11/15/2024 23:39:06

Thanks for the info Harley. That is pretty cool tech. I am researching right now and will contact you, via email, if I have more questions. Up, up and away, as they say.   Posted: 11/16/2024 16:09:10

Actually if I wish I could go back and take a still with its 48 mp still camera. I am waiting for an invitation to the Ukraine. Sorry, too political again.   Posted: 11/17/2024 02:16:04

This is a really interesting image, Harley. I love how the green in the woods and landscaping work with the house's roof. I also like how the lines of the trees frame the flowing lines of the landscaping around the house, then accentuate the geometry that the house itself brings to the party. The cool blues of the pool and part of the house's roof also show up in the asphalt of the driveway and the water in the lower right of the frame. The eyes wander throughout the image and the similar colors keep my gaze within the frame. This is an intriguing composition made from a different angle. Well executed!   Posted: 11/16/2024 20:39:36

Thank you Andrew. It would also be a good ad for a home sale magazine, I think. Is there a category "Real Estate Sale photography?" I am not sure.   Posted: 11/17/2024 01:33:15
